Sneak Peek: 9.2m Fishing Catamaran Under Construction

Built for Commercial Fishing

We’re excited to share a first look at one of our latest Cheetah Marine catamarans currently under construction. Measuring 9.2m x 3.7m, this vessel is being purpose-built for commercial fishing and will soon be heading to Scotland to join several other Cheetah catamarans already operating there.

Designed with practicality, efficiency, and the demands of commercial fishing in mind, this vessel features a comprehensive specification, including:

  • Fishing equipment: Self-shooting system, hauler box, hauling protection and hydro slave system
  • Power and fuel: Twin 200hp Yamaha engines, supported by 250-litre fuel tanks.
  • Hydraulic systems: A dedicated donkey engine bay housing a 25hp Beta engine with a Spencer Carter hydraulic power pack and hydraulic winch system.
  • Onboard facilities: A compact galley unit complete with a sink and single-door cupboard.
  • Helm positions: A second external helm position for greater flexibility when working on deck.
  • Deck equipment: Porta-jacs to support the vessel’s operational requirements.

Designed with Certification in Mind

The build will also include the necessary surveys, documentation, and submissions to support SeaFish certification, with the aim of achieving CM Number 2 certification for the hull’s commercial fishing application.

Scotland, Here We Come!

This latest build represents another addition to the growing number of Cheetah Marine catamarans working in Scottish waters. We look forward to seeing this vessel completed, delivered, and ready to join the fleet.

Stay tuned for more updates as this exciting project takes shape!
