The fifth of the fleet for Pullar Fishing Co
Scottish east coast family business Pullar Fishing Company will be launching their fifth Cheetah this weekend. 9.98m Interceptor joins two Cheetahs delivered earlier this year and will work alongside the rest of the fleet from the harbour in Montrose.
The Pullar family has been fishing since the 1960s. The original effort was netting for wild salmon using traditional methods in pristine locations to ensure a top quality harvest. Like many fishing families, changing times have meant the Pullar’s have had to adapt to survive.
The first Cheetah was delivered to the Bothy in small cove of Usan in 2005. 6.9m Lunalass was later joined by a similar 6.9m Iris bought second from further up north. In 2016 the Pullars purchased the new 6.9m with a beam of 3m. The 6.9m twins left as stage B boats with the Pullar family completing the fit out and installations to each specification at their shed over the winter. Both catamarans have been fitted with Yamaha 70hp outboards and on sea trials have achieved a top speeds of 23 knot.
The fleet of four Cheetahs currently work within a 20 mile range of Montrose harbour.
